As your home search heats up in Texas there are three tools that I found to aid you in today’s hot Texas real estate market. It’s all about the decisions that you make…Are you selecting the perfect school? Is the area safe? Especially if you are shopping with a family and intend on staying put for a bit. Oh the decisions and the pressure! In a world full of mobile and smart phone devices why not put the internet to work for you.
To being your search I’m sure you want to locate the market you wish to purchase in. There are a ton of sites to help but one of my favorites is HomeSnap. This site combines the best of Zillow and Trulia, offering an easy map-based search with lots of property info. It also works on unlisted home, condos and townhomes. Best of all HomeSnap offers a free app for your smartphone so jump online and see what you can find.
Let’s talk about locating a new school. A favorite of mine is a site called GreatSchools. The reviews on this site are written by both parents and children, which gives you valuable insight into your potentially new school district. What’s better than reviewing schools from the comfort of your living room rather than driving around??
Another equally important concern is safety! More than ever this is important in both our homes and our schools. I found a great site called CrimeReports which as the name suggests provides information about crimes committed and the locations of sec offenders in the neighborhoods across the county. The site also allows you to register so that it can email you updates as they become available.
I’m sure there are many more great resources out there but hopefully you will find these useful as you begin or conclude your home search. Remember that finding the perfect home doesn’t necessarily mean finding a new one. If you locate that “perfect” area and the home needs a little TLC please don’t forget our great Renovation Mortgage Loans. Such as the full FHA 203k, the FHA 203k streamline, the Fannie Mae HomeStyle and the Fannie Mae HomePath. Call me today for more details.
